"Colleen is a good storyteller! ... Meg's story was so sad. She had to ordeal a lot before she was rescued by the highwayman. Kincaid had a bad childhood, but he is kind and honorable." - Kindle Customer
In this adventure romance, a lady on the run meets a mysterious masked highwayman and she joins him on his journey for justice and finds true love and passion.
She didn't mean things to turn out like that. She didn't mean to kill her husband. But he was viciously attacking their new-born son. With blood on her hands and her name and identity out with the authorities, she is wanted for murder. As she runs, she collapses on the road, where she is found by the notorious highwayman known as Captain Scarlet. Kincaid sweeps her into his arms and onto his horse and they escape - only to fall into an enemy ambush and in prison.
There Meg is charged as the highwayman's accomplice. But Captain Scarlet has many friends and they help them escape. The underworld of criminals and pickpockets is so unlike the landed estates Meg has grown up on. Kincaid is a tender man who takes care of the dazed and terrified Meg who falls deeply and inescapably in love with him. But she knows it will ruin everything if she is open with him. She says she's a common wench and Kincaid laughs, but he knows better. She has the smooth hands of a lady.
Captain Scarlet has a few secrets of his own to hide. When enemies hell-bent on killing them both trap them, the highwayman and the lady must do everything they can to save themselves and their dreams - or risk losing their very lives.
