The White Heron

Cressida James answers an advertisement for a secretary/chauffeuse to a writer living in Spain. She is dismayed to find her employer is a woman - Martha Macdowell - who is an invalid confined to a wheelchair, living alone in the mountains. When Martha mysteriously disappears, Cressida meets her son. But is he the notorious White Heron, who plans to start another Civil War? Cressida is not sure, but she is determined to save him.
