Wager for Love

A chance remark involved Sir Hugo Lytton in a remarkable wager. Lord Charles Devaney was certain his beautiful sister could find a husband for young Marin Ambrose before the end of the London Social Season. Sir Hugo was equally certain she could not. However, it seemed for a while that the wager would end in tragedy and not triumph for the winner, although the eventual winner was the most unlikely person.
