The lockdown wasn’t part of the exercise.

At a remote Academy training annex, Tega and her fellow cadets expect controlled drills under the watch of the brilliant—and unpredictable—Instructor Valeera Quon. Instead, armed intruders breach the perimeter, and the simulation turns into a live-fire siege.

Cut off and outmatched, the cadets are forced to defend the facility with training gear, failing systems, and no clear leadership. Corridors become battlegrounds. Bulkheads slam shut. Power flickers as the attackers press deeper inside.

At first, it seems obvious why they’re here—to kill cadets.

But the longer the siege drags on, the less certain that becomes.

Because if the annex falls, it won’t just be a massacre—it will be a public failure the academy can’t survive. And if Tega and the others can’t stop the attackers in time, there may not be an academy left to save.
