The discovery of a body caught in the famous stepping stones, ruins photographer and hiker Chris’s plans to walk in Dovedale, a beauty spot in Derbyshire. DI Masterson sends DS Della Downs to investigate. Then another body turns up in the water at a marina on the River Trent. DI Jim Hart’s team become involved when yet another body turns up in the same river in Nottingham. They join forces to investigate this rather odd situation.

The situation is further complicated by another drowning in a local park, but apart from the water aspect, this one is entirely different. And yet, Della can’t help feeling it’s connected somehow…
