Her
Over a hundred years ago, something happened in the forgotten, overrun town of Port Clyde. A battle high on the hill that changed everything. When those who were young, young enough to remember their parents who were alive during that time talk about it they talk about the magical pulse, a beacon that drew more supernaturals here. They came in droves, and soon enough there were more of them up there in that castle than there were of us. Sad, seeking creatures caught in the beam of that impenetrable lighthouse. It is hard not to wander to the edge of those dark woods, hard not to listen to their whispers.
Him
It didn’t take long for the castle that had become a painted prison for so many to grow tight. Constricting. I am not made for walls, marble floors, and rich drapes that hold my fur. I was made for the forest. One with it, as polluted and heavy as it is it is mine. My dominion, my home. The years are long and empty, so empty I have stopped taking my fae form. Until I see her, blonde hair tangled in the snow dusted leaves, her skirts lifted, lost in pleasure. Or at least the promise of it.
I cannot recall deciding to kill the male she is with, only the sounds of her screams wrenching at my heart call me back to myself. Can’t make sense of what it means when I can’t take my eyes from her. Only that this is the start of something horrible, and what a gift that is. I had become so terribly bored.
