Ditching the Turkey

(A book in the Seven Holidays series)
A novel by

Part of the Seven Holiday/Seven Miller Sibling's saga, this is the fifth sweet/inspirational romance in this series.

Mackenzie Miller, oldest of the Miller family girls, hasn’t had nearly the success in the dating pool as her three younger sisters. They all seem to have found their someone special, their happily-ever-after. All Mackenzie seems to find are duds.

Invited to Thanksgiving dinner at the home of her latest boyfriend’s parents, she accepts—even though she’s still not convinced he’s the one. The idea of spending another Thanksgiving with her family, as the only unattached daughter, is also not high on her holiday agenda.

Halfway through dinner, Mackenzie flees the party when her boyfriend proposes marriage in front of his entire family. Eager to get away, she speeds off without looking back. Speed being the important point here.

State trooper, Aaron Patton, is nearby investigating a break and enter out in the county when a flashy red sportscar whizzes past his unmarked car. When he pulls the woman over, he’s immediately aware she’s been crying. Yet, when he inquires if she’s okay, she starts laughing. Uncontrollably. He offers to follow her home to make sure she’s safe, and ends up at the family home of his old friend and poker buddy, Alex Miller. It’s then that he realizes the gorgeous blonde he’s pulled over for speeding is Alex’s kid sister. The same sister who used to follow them around like a puppy dog.

Can Aaron see past Kenzie’s shell and get to the soft, loving woman inside? Or, will their initial meeting be nothing more than a missed opportunity for them both?
