A French professional assassin - ex-paratrooper, ex-OAS man, with a supreme flair for killing - is suspected of having arrived in London. Nobody knows his hirers or who his intended victims may be. It is feared he has a Murder List of distinguished men. Detective Sergeant Scamp is engaged in trying to track him down before the killing starts, but it is a formidable undertaking - especially when the man is ready to kill any would-be captor who gets too close.
