A novel by

When Louisa Evans quite (literally) crashes into her new neighbor on move-in day, she leaves him soaked, scowling, and completely unimpressed by her tentacle-smut and basket of apology-muffins. Setting them down the long petty path of late-night warfare. But when an immigration notice threatens everything she's built, she finds herself knocking on the one door she never imagined she'd turn to for help.

Hudson Ellis is disciplined and entirely used to being the most in control person in every room. When his own future hinges on convincing a co-op board that he's settled down, a wife, however temporary, seems like a perfectly manageable solution. It’s a simple arrangement or would be if they were different people. But nothing about Louisa is simple, and nothing about Hudson is as airtight as he'd like everyone to believe.

They can convince the world they're happily married. Convincing themselves they aren't is another problem entirely.

In a fake marriage, falling in love is the ultimate liability.
