With my vocals and guitar, and his keyboard, we hoped we might still make a living from our music. Except before we got there, Baxter vanished in Mission City, BC, leaving me stranded, low on cash, and homeless in a new town. When I run into our old roadie, Carver, on the street, it's a gift from the gods—a friendly face and a place to stay. But Carver's also the guy I crushed on for years, and I don't know if I have the strength to be just a friend, or to leave when it's time for me to go.
