A novel by

Sphere paperback science fiction. First Sphere books edition 1971. 208 pages. "A Sweet, Sweet Summer" is a black comedy set in what from a late sixties perspective was a dystopian and anarchic near future Britain, loosely supervised by alien invaders who cut Britain off from the rest of the world and then demonstrated their power by publicly executing Ringo Starr (after he was unfortunate enough to win a ballot asking who was the most important person in Britain.) The first line of the book is "Till she came we were all just one big happy family."
