The Flame Within

(1958)
A novel by

Corton Lodge was an attractive cottage in the heart of the country, surrounded by loveliness, but the family that lived there were far from content. There was a playwright, handsome and fascinating, but arrogant and fiery-tempered; his wife, lovely to look upon, but with ugly traits lurking behind her beauty, and a small boy, unwanted, unloved and with eyes that were dark and serious. To this strange household came Teresa, quickly sensitive to the undercurrents which pervaded the cottage. She brought a sunny personality and warm youth which fanned a spark of love into a bright flame within two hearts.
