A Story by

She's a woman with no say over what happens to her body, and even when she tries she's ignored or dismissed. Too bad her life's at risk.

Tessa doesn't know how it happened, and yet, the evidence of her mistake stares back at her in the doctor's office. It's in black and white facts she can't wish away, no matter how many times she shakes her head or closes her eyes.

And every sigh from the doctor, every dismissed concern or question, has her diving further and further into shock. Denial. Depression. It's all too much. She's terrified. But everyone must believe she's stupid because they continually tell her she's wrong, that there's nothing to worry about, like they know her body better than she does. The worst part is she's starting to believe it too. Idiotic Tessa, overreacting again. But is she?

Despite everything, Tessa's tries telling herself that everything's fine.
Even though nothing could be fine ever again. How could it be when she's ignored at every single turn until her very life is at risk?
