Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

Isaiah 1:7

America has been torn asunder by political division, and the supply chain has been crippled by the ensuing chaos. The administration seems willing to accept the de facto two-state solution brought about by the secession of states joining the Western Bloc. Under the protection of Chinese President Junyi Song, Kendall Esperanza has returned from exile and serves as the acting president of the Western Bloc in Portland, Oregon.
However, the violent revolutionaries loyal to Esperanza are not satisfied with the arrangement. They continue to carry out terrorist attacks on government buildings, infrastructure, and law enforcement within the conservative states not aligned with the Western Bloc.

Tommy and Jackie have both witnessed more than their share of bloodshed and are determined to ride out the storm at their family compound. However, when they uncover a plot by the revolutionaries to install Kendall Esperanza as the official President of the United States, they can no longer sit on the sidelines. Tommy's uncle, Royce, puts together a plan to foil the revolutionaries' objective. But the revolutionaries are dangerous people, and they don't take kindly to infiltrators.

The path ahead is paved with blood and carnage. Even those who survive will have to bear the burden of the things they've seen and done.

As with all works by Mark Goodwin, this book contains no profanity and no embarrassing sex scenes. However, if you're offended by conservative principles and references to Scripture, this book might not be for you.
