Arise, Fire!: Lightbeard's School for the Broken
(2025)(The third book in the Delta Underground Operatives Retired series)
A novel by N A Grotepas
Introducing a school for the people who thought second chances were a thing of fairy tales, welcome to Lightbeard’s School for the Broken.
I met the man of my dreams. What could be better?
We’d been broken, me and him. By life. By marriage. By divorce. By the kinds of storms no one asked for.
Two broken adults, sorting through the wreckage.
How fun.
And for a minute we were the only two students in Lightbeard’s School for the Broken, and he was did I already say adorable? And sexy. And masculine. And funny.
He was everything any red-blooded American woman could want. He was Pedro Pascal after he took the helmet off. He was Robert Downey, Jr after he put the helmet on. He was soft and beautiful, with a ribbon of strength and resilience running through him that sparked my brain like the fuse on a stick of dynamite.
Sitting in ‘class’ bantering together over Lightbeard’s choices of words and his mannerisms and enjoying just every. Damn. Thing. Together.
It was heaven.
The thing with getting that high is just how far you have to fall when you lose what you love.
What no one tells you is how, with the unseen world, there is no end to the fall. There is no bottom. There is only surrender.
When Samuel vanishes, I want off the roller coaster. I ask the universe to give me back my old life. Will it listen? Or will it just send an ancient sorcerer to my doorstep who shuttles me off on adventure and toward growth I no longer want?
Two guesses what happens next.
As usual, the standard question applies: can I survive the gauntlet?
That will depend on just how willing I am to confront the things buried in me I can’t bear to look at. Everything outside me happens first within me. My teachers promise me I’ll understand this someday.
A woman can hope they’re right.
If you love paranormal women’s fiction, second chances, awakenings, real magic and spiritual teachings, Merlin and ancient wizards, coffee shops, odd-couple antics, and a midlife FMC, then step right in and join the school!
Scroll up, click buy, and start on an unforgettable journey with Ivy Danielle, Lightbeard, and Amanita Damonica.
Genre: Urban Fantasy
