The Final Ball of Orianne de Premonville is the story of a woman, recently widowed, who faces the choice that her great wealth and position offer her: in order to reconnect with her long-lost son, she must choose between making a life of pleasure and a life of value. Her choice slowly begins to take shape in the form of a series of Christmas balls she gives every Christmas Eve. As the balls grow in scope and splendor, they also grow in depth and thoughtfulness, and the true meaning of her life, and of Christmas, emerges.
