The Name Thief

(2022)
A novel by

How can she not remember her own name?

Everything started to get weird after her trip to Ellis Island. It was supposed to be educational, and it was, until she was confronted by a ghost-like little girl who left her head spinning...and her name missing. And it isn't just her own memory that's been messed with: her name is missing from her school papers, family photos, even the handprints in the sidewalk in front of her house.

Her name was taken by the Name Thief.

She learns that there is another world, hiding in the shadows, full of creatures myth and legend never even guessed at. One such being has stayed alive thousands of years living off the power that comes from stolen names. Even worse, without her name, she is now fair game for other, darker things. Hungry fiends who long for the taste of blood. Ancient hunters who prowl in the night. Monsters that wear human faces.

But she's ready to fight back.

She never asked to be pulled out of her normal teenaged life into a secret world of secrets, rules, and fangs. This wasn't how she planned to spend her senior year. But even as some of the oldest, most powerful beings start circling her, she isn't about to give up. Her name is out there. She just has to get it back.

Names have power. Shadows have teeth.
