In 1988, the city of Glasgow hosted a Garden Festival that went a long way to eradicating its 'no mean city' image. It was also the year in which a serial killer stalked the city, killing six people, with the final victim being the detective in charge of the investigation. Each of the victims was found displayed in one of the city's public parks, the killer having selected a passage from the Bible to leave with his victims as a macabre calling card. Forever ingrained in the grim history of the city, for over three decades the killings have remained unsolved. On the 31st anniversary of the original killing, a young woman is found dead in the same location and by the same method as 'Jeremiah's' first victim. Has the monster returned, or is a crazed copy-cat killer on the loose? For Detective Inspector James Aitken, the son of the original lead investigator and final victim of Jeremiah, the race is on to solve the case and prevent a grim replay of one of the darkest times in Glasgow's history.
