Both Doctor Jerry Clayton and Nurse Jane Hamilton had some misgivings about their assignments on board the S S Madrigal, a ship bound on a fifty-day Mediterranean cruise. The handsome young doctor was pinch-hitting for his father, the regular ship's physician, and Jane was serving as temporary replacement for the chief nurse. Because of his insecurity, Jerry was severe with Jane, and she in turn had to curb her natural exuberance and even hide her red curls beneath her cap in order to please him.
