Craig Mackay took his brother, Laird Robin Mackay’s place in a betrothal agreement with Lady Lenora so Robin could marry the woman he loved. Since Craig never intended to marry, he agreed because he didn’t plan for marriage to change his life in any way.
Lady Lenora, sister to Laird David Gunn, has already suffered through one abusive marriage and does not want to marry again. However, The Gunn tells her if she doesn’t marry a Mackay brother, he will marry her off to another brutal man. With no choice she accepts Craig Mackay.
