The cozy town of Willow Haven, Indiana is all abuzz as the annual Writers’ Haven Book Festival is about to begin. The weekend long event is a celebration of Indiana native writers and the thrilling worlds created in the pages of a great book. This year’s festival is guaranteed to be even more exciting as the successful and elusive author, Oliver Blackwood, is touted to be a key speaker at the event.
However, the festivities take a dark turn as Emily Kincaid, tea shop owner and fellow panelist, discovers the author’s body just as the festival is set to begin. The startling discovery causes panelists, authors, and vendors alike to pull out of the event, threatening to cancel all the hard work of the townspeople.
Detective Daniel Carter, newly settled in Willow Haven with his thirteen-year-old daughter, has been assigned to the case. The more details that are uncovered, the more Emily is convinced that clues from the author’s book may just be the keys needed to solve the case.
After much convincing, Detective Daniel Carter reluctantly agrees to join forces with Emily to uncover the web of secrets, jealously, and revenge surrounding the author’s murder.
