The Whispering Women

Margaret reluctantly agrees to teach at Dermon Primary School for one year. There she immediately clashes with Peter Blake, the young Head. 'Black' Blake is an excellent teacher but there are unsavoury rumours about his reputation with women, and the fact that he is living with his brother's wife. As Margaret fights to avoid being overwhelmed by the dominant charm and personality of Peter, she must decide whether personal freedom is really possible, or if love makes willing prisoners of us all.
