The Saenr, a ceremony that marks the coming of age for an Elvraeth, serves as a passing into the great abilities gifted to her family by the Great Watcher. Yet as Cael enters the Saenr, something happens that will forever change her…and possibly all of the Elvraeth. When she loses one of the great crystals at the heart of the ceremony, she is forced to travel foreign lands, uncertain of her abilities, and must learn whether she has the strength of her people in order to reach the crystal in time before it is lost forever.
