Right Beneath Our Noses And Other Stories
(2019)An anthology of stories edited by David Allan Hamilton
Could You Write A Story In A Day?
This was the challenge presented to a small group of writers who wanted to write a story and see it published in a day.
We gathered on Saturday morning at Carleton University in Ottawa, reviewed some basic story-telling techniques, and then got busy! By the middle of the afternoon, writers put the finishing touches on their stories and then I collected them, reviewed them with fresh eyes, and put the collection together.
The Risk of Writing
All writers understand that not every story is going to be amazing. It's the same understanding that artists have, or dancers, or actors. Not every piece of art we create will be awesome. But that's the fun of creating something entirely new... we never know if it'll work or not.The important thing is to do it anyway. And in this collection of short stories and memoirs, you'll see the results of writers taking risks, going boldly where others fear to go.
So congratulations to the writers who participated in this challenge. It was an amazing day!
