The Physicians

(The first book in the London's Central Hospital series)
A novel by

To be 'Central trained' meant something special...

The relationship between Nurse Anne Heseltine, a young widow, and Dr Michael Vanstone had been a strange one. Several times Anne had felt they were on the verge of a deeper understanding, when Michael had drawn back, afraid to commit himself. Hospital gossip also linked his name with that of Jennifer Ramsay, a pretty student nurse who was obviously out to catch him - and Anne herself knew that she was loved by Bill Barham. When the Professorship at the Central became vacant, Anne realised that the two men were becoming serious rivals - in work and in love...
