Taking a break from the bottom of a bottle, Lane Scott gets word that the outlaws that ravished his town and murdered his son have returned to the territory. Tracking the gang, he comes upon one of them in the Texas Hill Country. Instead of taking him to San Antonio where a bounty would be paid, he chooses to take him to Mason, where the man will likely be lynched. While transporting the outlaw, Lane comes across a widowed mother and son at a stagecoach depot, and then a pair of Texans who Lane recognizes from his past. Mother and son choose to accompany them, while the other two men come along under questionable circumstances. When the group finally arrives at the location of the outlaw-ravaged townsite, Lane stands ready to face the gang alone as long as he gets his final revenge.
