A Story by

My therapist says I have "maladaptive attachment patterns." I say she's never met Roxy Hart.

Roxy blows things up for fun. She leaves my name in spray paint at crime scenes, last month she mailed me a bag of cherry lollipops with a note that said thinking of you, sugar and I...a grown man with a master's degree in criminal psychology, kept one in my desk drawer.

I know what this is. I'm not stupid. I've read the literature on captor-captive dynamics, on parasocial obsession, on the thin line between pursuit and desire.

But here's the thing nobody tells you about obsession: it doesn't feel like madness. It feels like the only thing that makes sense.

She left me a pocket watch tonight, engraved with an address.

So...I'm going. Alone. Probably going to die, at this point I've stopped caring.

A psychological trainwreck disguised as a dark romance. Morally bankrupt FBI agent. Villain he absolutely should not want. Zero survival instincts...it goes exactly as well as you'd expect.
