If you're not sitting on a secret, why change your name?

When Ellie Blix attends the village fête with her family, she's looking forward to the cake competition, tombola and coconut shy. But when she goes to admire the new pergola in the rose garden, she hears an agonised cry from the wishing well nearby. On closer inspection, it's clear someone is in there - dying.

The next day, the police reveal the victim is Samantha Day, a newcomer to the village, who recently accused one of Ellie’s cleaners of stealing her Cartier watch.

With one of Ellie’s staff under suspicion, the Blix women delve into Samantha's life and secrets... and wonder why she recently changed her name. Then a witness reports overhearing her arguing with someone at the fête.

But when a message is delivered, saying "YOU'RE NEXT", to another local, Ellie realises: they must find the killer before another life is taken...
