Joan Bellamy is campaigning to be elected as a representative in the State Senate. Her opponent is an honourable man who insists on a fair fight. But his campaign manager, Stokes Jackson, thinks differently and is willing to use every trick in the book to ensure that Joan does not gain the electorate's approval on voting day. When Jackson threatens Joan with blackmail, insisting that he will reveal scandalous information about her past unless she resigns from the race, Joan is defiant. Scandal soon threatens in a very different form, however, when Jackson is found murdered. Finding herself the prime suspect in the ensuing investigation, Joan must do everything in her power to clear her name and her family's before it is too late...
