A moving coming-of-age story from bestselling romance author Jane Harvey-Berrick
TOTALLY BOOKED
Beautiful, sweet, hopeful, vivid, tragic and emotional. 'Summer of Seventeen' is not only inspirational and an all-consuming journey of self-discovery and hope. It's a coming of age story written with such realism it touched my heart and I felt so deeply that it brought me to tears. I highly recommend this story!
FIVE STARS
"Every scene of this story had purpose ... it all collided into one summer that shaped Nick at his core. Good or bad, each event made him into something stronger, even if he had to fight and crawl to get there. I can't say enough about this book. There were times it hurt so much to continue reading I thought I would break, but then there were moments where the story was so beautiful you wanted to grab hold and never let it go. If you want to hope and cry and feel and fall on your knees because you're so happy to be alive, then read this book. It's beautiful in ways you can't imagine."

It was supposed to be the endless summer of sand, sea, and surf. Supposed to be. But, Nick Andrews life is crashing out of control. His girlfriend and his best friend have declared war, his sister's constant interference in his life is driving him insane, and there are money problems that won't go away. Being seventeen isn't supposed to be this hard.
When cool surfer Marcus arrives in town followed by a string of women, Nick sees that there are easier ways to live. But with his life falling to pieces around him, it's hard to know who to trust.
As the scorching heat of summer grows, events begin to unravel, reaching a shattering conclusion - and a summer he'll never forget.

"This story will make you travel back in time. Will make you remember when you were 17. You will laugh. You will cry. Your heart will be broken..
I loved being inside Nick's mind. I felt his pain and insecurities. The moments of happiness and the loneliness. Every single feeling is strong, I could almost touch them."

"It is 1:30am. I have just finished, 'Summer of Seventeen'. I don't really know what to say. I just felt I had to acknowledge the effect this book had on me.
I thought I was going to read a YA story about teenagers out of school for the summer, with all the fun, and partying, and surfing. The last summer before graduating high school. I was looking for a love story. It was so much more! I felt that I was in the head of Nick. I felt his pain, his love, his frustration with his life. Yansi was so special. She was one of my favourite characters."
