Where Dreams Begin

(2018)
(The first book in the Rose Hill Brides series)
A novel by

New man to town.

Owen McKaslin, self-declared lone wolf, steps foot in Rose Hill, Montana Territory with his heart on his sleeve. His beloved pa is recovering from a serious fall, doing well, but Owen could have lost him. That cracks him to the soul, so Owen vows to do all he can to make his father and family well and happy. He's the man with the money, the might and the will to do it. But, he has no heart left for romance. Not a drop. He will never fall in love again. Never. Until he sees Louisa.

Louisa Sandler is burdened with a hardware store she inherited, a mortgage that is worth more than the building, and a lonely life. A lonely life, which she has chosen because there are too many flawed men. That's her excuse anyway, as she laughingly says to her younger cousin. Life is no bed of roses in Rose Hill, but it is warm and endearing and full of people she adores. There's the Harris couple with their cat. The McKaslins with their feed store and checker matches. No, she is not going to waste her time there when she can be sewing on the side for a living. And no, she is not going to risk her heart falling for the most handsome, thoughtful and kind bachelor Rose Hill has ever known. She won't do it. She is in perfect control of her heart, which is already falling.
