Zed, chugging along in his Stanley Electric Steamer, discovers something has gone awry when he's stopped by a streamlined police car. Quick thinking and a touch of magic get him out of that problem.
The road continues to shake as universes collide and crash.
Zed is pulled and pushed across no longer parallel boundaries.
They say when you rescue someone, you take on responsibility for their life - or more. That's how Zed finds himself in loco parentis to triplets - Dena and her sisters - born three years apart. In turn, they all rescued Leopold, a Dar-Iide war lord, from drowning, and he's now their self-appointed bodyguard.
Lucifer wears a business suit and deals in bitcoins. He's using contracts based on blockchains - they're blood-free and very detailed. Will he help or hinder Zed's efforts?
Zed must hold the ends together, protecting this new universe with all the magic he can muster while pretending he's not attracted to Dena.
An enemy has released soul stealers genetically engineered to track and destroy Zed. They're feeding on ladies of the night in Soho, and the death toll is mounting.
