(2026)(The fifth book in the Peyton Brooks Homicide: The Early Cases series)
A novel by M L Hamilton
When the San Francisco State rowing team finds the half-submerged body of a man on Lake Merced, Peyton and Marco are drawn into a case of betrayal and murder.
The dead man, Conrad Chambers, had a wife, a house in West Portal, and a good job with Profit Pulse, a financial services company. However, one morning he went out kayaking on the urban lake and never returned.
His mother and wife filed a missing persons report with the police, but Conrad remained missing for six months. Now Peyton and Marco must recreate a crime scene with little physical evidence and a list of suspects who all had a motive to kill.
