SHORT BACK AND SIGHS continues the life of Margaret Rose Astbury, known to us all as Meg Hutchinson. Her childhood years was previously recalled in A PENNY DIP, however all childhoods end, and Meg's was no exception. It is often said "a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down." But not always!
