The Vermont Lodge

(2026)
A novel by

A burned-out city girl. One chaotic Vermont retreat. The ex’s brother she absolutely shouldn't fall for.

Five over-caffeinated entrepreneurs, one eco-lodge in the wilds of Vermont, and me, April McCoy, corporate burnout and card-carrying city slicker.

It was supposed to be a solo digital detox.

Think: yoga, silent breakfasts, and communing with moss. But the GPS (which clearly hates me) redirected my rental Prius into a creek so shallow, even the frogs looked embarrassed for me.

I traipsed uphill, found the only cabin for miles, and walked straight into a corporate ‘bro-vation’ retreat, led by my ex's older brother.

Drew Rivers is handsome, controlled, painfully capable, and still remembers every embarrassing thing I did when we were younger. He also looks far too good chopping firewood, which feels both unfair and deeply personal.

I planned to avoid him, survive the weekend, and return to civilization before anyone saw me without coffee. But then a sudden landslide trapped us at the lodge.

Now I’m stuck with Drew, his four business partners, an overzealous life coach, one unhinged squirrel, and a growing suspicion that the man I thought I hated may understand me better than anyone else.

As business secrets spill and cabin fever rises, the line between arguing and flirting becomes harder to see. And the more time I spend with Drew, the more I wonder whether getting lost in Vermont might lead me toward the life, and the person, I never knew I needed.
