The Mystic Stone

(2023)
(Book 11 in the Stone Collection series)
A Novella by

A pall of grief hangs over Isabel following the death of her father, a talented aircraft engineer. Her situation is compounded by the fact that she herself is bound to a wheelchair because of an accident. As a result, much of her life is spent looking out of windows at the rugged beauty of Tenby, a fishing port in southwest Wales, with its dramatic cliffs and secrets… secrets particularly bound up with the mysterious Island of Caldey that lies just offshore.

The island features a monastery run by Cistercian monks. One of its secrets is unearthed when an ancient Pictish pendant (the Mystic Stone) is found. It is given to Finlay, a young man temporarily serving out his probation for manslaughter on the island. He too is someone desperately trying to expunge his demons.

Under the oversight of Barnaby, the monastery’s gardener, lives come together, and the brutal obscenity of injustice begins to be challenged.
