Eamon Martini is mid-way through a trip to Ireland, acting as a minder for his twenty-one-year-old niece. Maria Martini is attending open days at various universities, hoping to secure a spot and be the first in the family to go to university.

After the death of the Russian president’s son and the public humiliation of kidnapping President Agapov from his own office, Martini knew there would be a hefty price for him to pay.

He just hoped it wouldnt have come so soon.

President Agapov tasks his top assassin to take Martini out, an order to be executed with immediate effect.

Adrik Akim Garagin, the most dangerous man on Agapov’s payroll, knows Martini is too dangerous to engage directly. The assassin targets Martini’s family, friends and colleagues, knowing it will draw him into a vicious fight.

Garagin’s plan leaves Martini’s brother incarcerated, his friends in MI6 in hospital, and his niece in grave danger.

Martini takes Garagin’s bait and the hunter quickly becomes the hunted.

Martini returns to Russia, preparing to face the deadliest man he’s ever known.

Only one man’s heart will be beating at the end, and Martini doesn’t see this as a good time for him to die.
