Life in the mountains and valleys in and around the headwaters of the Missouri River – an area soon to be named Yellowstone – is harsh and unforgiving under the best circumstances, even for the men and women who were born and raised there.

As word spreads about the vast amounts of untamed land and opportunities to the west, adventurers and pioneers are drawn to the uniqueness of the land. For three sisters who have called this location their home their entire lives, the growing number of visitors and settlers to the region bring new encounters and experiences.
