For two thousand years, Earth has been a prison—a quarantined reservation for humanity after their terrifying, blood-soaked campaigns across the cosmos. The galaxy locked the door and threw away the key.

Until now.

Neural Navy Commodore Dante has been assigned an unwanted mission: go to Earth, survey the remnants of humanity, and decide if the universe can finally risk letting them out again.

But Dante isn't an impartial judge. To him, humanity isn't an abstract threat—they're the monsters who burned his home world to ash and murdered his family.

Dante doesn’t free humans; Dante kills humans. And he’s damn good at it. They’re sending an executioner to decide if the prisoner deserves mercy.

But on Earth, he finds a shattered world crawling through a bruta0 Dark Age. Society has crumbled into short, violent lives ruled by ignorance and superstition. His shuttle shot down by a rogue Neural agent, taken prisoner as an evil demigod, Dante is sentenced to death, with no way to prove his story or escape the planet.

His only chance for survival lies in the friendship of a wayward princess, and the love of a young girl. But soon enough, they, too, are sentenced to die with him.

There’s no way out for any of them. And Dante begins to realize that not only has his mission failed, but there are greater things at stake here than he ever imagined. With his own life and the fate of humanity on the line, Dante must find a way out.

If there is one.
