An amazing discovery in the mountains leads to some odd events in the Arizona town of Mountain Peak. A man is found dead on the mountain trail with no indication of how he died and no footprints in the dust beside his body. Mayor Randle Meredith is forced to provide some answers. Aided by his son Bart, his wife Jane and their Navajo servant, Randle is then faced with two more deaths. Now Randle's battle to protect his town from a murderer leaves him fighting desperately for his life.
