Christmas is supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year. Someone should probably tell Niko Helmer that.
Niko:
I just got out of the Army Rangers and I have absolutely no idea what I want to do with my life now.
My grandfather lives up in Ironwood Falls, and has been bugging me to come for a visit, so that's where I go first.
I thought that living in a small town, surrounded by nothing but trees sounded nice.
Then I get there.
The town is small and filled with so much Christmas cheer that it makes my stomach turn.
Everyone is so nice, so friendly and curious about me and I don’t know how to make it stop.
Then I meet Elsie and hear her plan.
One look at the curvy brunette and I know that I'm screwed.
All of my plans for remaining a recluse that everyone in town avoids go up in a plume of smoke, but I can't find it in me to care.
Elsie is going to be mine this Christmas.
And if I have my way, every one after too.
Elsie:
I refuse to spend another holiday season answering questions about why I haven’t met someone and gotten married yet.
So, I come up with a plan to find a fake boyfriend.
I mean, surely there has to be other people out there in the same boat, right?
That’s when I spot Niko, the grumpy new guy in town and I know that he’s perfect.
No one knows much about him and I could make it believable that we’re really together.
And not just because he’s the first man I’ve ever met who makes me light up like a Christmas tree.
So, I make him a deal: Pretend to be my boyfriend until the New Year and we both win.
I’ll be his fake girlfriend and keep his family off his back and he’ll return the favor.
Except, the more time we spend together, the less this relationship feels fake.
Now, I’m left wondering if my plan was really a win-win, or if I’m about to lose the man of my dreams this holiday season.
