She looks at him and thinks, "Please don't let him be more than twenty-five."

He looks at her and thinks, "Please let her be at least twenty-five."

Neither one of them is.

And that's only one of their problems.

Rye is a man with an ugly past. He didn't come to Baxter, Ohio, looking for a woman, but there she was. Emma is pretty and sweet, and the kind of woman he'd always wanted, but never dreamed he could have. Her innocence and vulnerability tugs at Rye's weary heart, and the sizzling sexual pull between them can't be ignored.

But Emma has a dangerous ex-boyfriend, plus an outraged, overprotective father with a family connection that dooms Rye and Emma's relationship from the start.
That and Rye's dangerous past make it seem impossible for them to have a future together.

(Readers, This is a sexy, contemporary romance that includes a forbidden romance, one scene involving physical violence and a stalker. It is intended for those over 18.)

MEET TERESA HILL

Teresa Hill is a USA Today Bestselling Author who writes big, complicated, emotional romances with flawed, messed-up characters trying to change for the better and finding love.

Growing up, she was a small town, Daddy's girl and a tomboy who loved to climb trees. Her father was a lifelong reader of Westerns (and always wished she'd write one - sorry, Daddy, just not my thing). As a child, her favorite Saturdays were spent with him prowling through an old, dusty used bookstore, trying to find romances with covers that weren't too sexy, so her father would let her read them. (Which is how she found Harlequin romances, who later became her first publisher.)

She found her husband while they were both working their way through college. (He might have been her boss.) She remembers thinking so clearly, "What are you doing here? You're much too early. I have things to do before I'm ready for you."

But she married him anyway. He never tried to keep her from doing anything.

She wrote and sold her first romance when they lived on a little island off the South Carolina coast, where their son and daughter were born.

Now, she and her husband live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains with a loud, bossy cat and two very spoiled dogs.

She believes everything in life - the good or the very bad -- is better with someone you love, which is why she writes romance novels.
