A momentary lapse in concentration whilst on a surveillance operation leads to life-threatening injuries for DC Kendra March and her partner from in Serious Crimes Unit, Andy Pike.
Whilst recovering and back to light duties in the Intel Unit, Kendra soon realises that criminals are getting away with their crimes and thriving as a result. Recognising that police hands are tied, and that great work is typically undone by the laws of the land, with loopholes and well-paid lawyers helping to keep the criminals free, Kendra becomes disillusioned and angry.
Determined to do something about it, she recruits her criminal-connected absent father and now disabled ex-partner Andy to a daring venture that she hopes will help even the scores, to apply summary justice to those that deserve it.
But to do so means that they will have to be partners in crime - against crime.
