It's the day before Thanksgiving, and a computer virus in the reservations system used by major airlines has paralyzed all U.S. airports. Enter Scott Vandenberg, ex-Navy pilot who's been called in by the President to nab the hacker who's caused the chaos. Teamed with Federal Aviation Agency agent Nancy Delacorte, our hero discovers the identity of the two elusive geniuses behind the sabotage, but he's helpless to prevent the drug trafficking that the hacker and his assistant are masterminding from their hideout in Colombia. Kidnappings, stolen 747s, and hairsbreadth escapes from mid-air collisions keep the reader turning pages in this slightly hokey but harrowing thriller by the pilot/computer consultant author of Skin Deep (Putnam, 1983). Not too technical, and all too plausible. A surefire hit.-- Joyce Smothers, Monmouth Cty . Lib., Manalapan, N.J.
