At 82, the eminent archaeologist Richard Fox drowns himself among the orange peel and litter of the oily waters off the Isle of Wight.
His son Peter returns for the funeral, and against his better judgement he stays on at The Round House in an effort to come to terms with the father who had always overshadowed him.
