Everyone knows I hate flying.
Usually my team has a system to get me through it, but a last-minute trade leaves no time for anything but shoving a few things in a bag and getting me on a plane to Philadelphia.
Then I meet Jet, the purser who notices my fear without making me feel weak.
He doesn’t coddle me.
He simply stays, and by the time we land, I’ve made it through a flight I wasn’t sure I’d survive. I should be relieved it’s over.
Instead, I can’t stop thinking about him.
So, when the team ask if there is anything they can do to make it easier, I just make one request.

Becoming a pilot has been my dream for years. Ive worked every angle to get there from flight school, to teaching and building my hours, while living in the smallest apartment in Philly.
I’m finally close enough to see the cockpit waiting for me, when the hockey player I helped through a turbulent flight requests to bring me along for the rest of the season.
The charter work means more time to build flight hours, and better money, taking some of the pressure off my bills, including my dad’s care facility.
My dad doesn’t always remember when I visit anymore. Some days he barely knows who I am. But my memories are strong enough for both of us, and I’ll do whatever it takes to give him the best care I can.
I tell myself the charter is simply an opportunity, and one I can’t afford to turn down. What I don’t count on though is falling for the player I''m supposed to be supporting.
I came on board to chase the cockpit, and take care of the people I love, I never expected Bodhi to make me question where I wanted to land.
