All Commander Xianx Paul wants is to finish his tour of duty, return home, and marry the love of his life. But the discovery of an ancient artifact—timed with the arrival of an overly ambitious admiral—has put his remote orbital in the crosshairs of: 1) a gang of psychotic smugglers, 2) a high-tech battlecruiser with a deadly agenda, and 3) a mysterious stranger wielding unimaginable power.
Three billion miles from the nearest reinforcements, Paul has no choice but to depend on his wholly undependable crew—a collection of misfits who, through missteps and misdemeanors, have found themselves banished to the outer rim. But caught in a desperate, three-way battle—and managing an admiral who’s hell-bent on war—Paul can’t afford to dwell on the past.
Summary: Tangent blends humor and action, with relatable characters and a sharp dialog. Most people find it enjoyable, although some do not like the adult situations or that the book ends on a cliffhanger.
Genre: Science Fiction
