Accidentally Falling for the Sheriff

(2026)
(The third book in the Clifton Cove series)
A novel by

The night I caught Willow Rivers hosting a full moon fire ritual in the forest, I should’ve arrested her.

Instead, I argued with her.
Then I fantasized about her.
Then, after one particularly explosive fight, I bent her over a cot in a sheriff’s cabin and ruined any chance of pretending she was just another headache in a flowy skirt.

She’s moonlight, essential oils, crystals, romance novels, and trouble.
I’m the sheriff of Clifton Cove, which means I like rules, order, and not having my blood pressure tested by a woman who thinks sage can fix almost anything.

It definitely can’t fix what happens when the next smartass comment might end with me tearing her clothes off. Again.

Now, small town businesses are getting robbed, properties are being broken into, and Willow’s house gets hit, too.
Which means the last woman I should want is suddenly under my roof so I can keep her safe.

She leaves little bottles of lavender oil in my bathroom.
I give her a list of safety rules she ignores them.
She says I’m emotionally constipated.
I say she’s one crystal away from summoning my final damn nerve.

We fight.
We spark.
We keep making catastrophically bad decisions with our clothes half off.

And the more danger closes in around her, the more I realize I’m not just trying to solve a case.

I’m trying not to lose the one woman who’s gotten under my skin, into my bed, and way too damn close to my heart.
