It all started back in 2081. I'd just moved to Toronto for my first job out of uni at a company called Nu-Gen Electronics. I’d done a similar job as an intern before graduation, so I had a pretty good idea of what the job entailed and was confident in my abilities. The one aspect that wasn’t prepared for was the companions.

Of course,
I knew in general terms what they were. Ever since the mid 2050's they'd been ubiquitous in corporate offices. I just hadn't been exposed to them during my internship. Every single one of them was drop-dead gorgeous, flirtatious, intelligent, and observant.

When I first encountered those ladies in my new-hire orientation, I was left tongue-tied. My looks were pretty unremarkable, so I never garnered the attention of the truly beautiful women until I arrived at Nu-Gen.

Suddenly, I had the attention of gorgeous women, and it was glorious.

Sorry, this one doesn't fit neatly into a bin. This is a speculative, futuristic, story of building an unconventional family in a world that is rapidly approaching.
