It all started back in 2081. I'd just moved to Toronto for my first job out of uni at a company called Nu-Gen Electronics. I’d done a similar job as an intern before graduation, so I had a pretty good idea of what the job entailed and was confident in my abilities. The one aspect that wasn’t prepared for was the companions.
Of course,I knew in general terms what they were. Ever since the mid 2050's they'd been ubiquitous in corporate offices. I just hadn't been exposed to them during my internship. Every single one of them was drop-dead gorgeous, flirtatious, intelligent, and observant.
When I first encountered those ladies in my new-hire orientation, I was left tongue-tied. My looks were pretty unremarkable, so I never garnered the attention of the truly beautiful women until I arrived at Nu-Gen.
Suddenly, I had the attention of gorgeous women, and it was glorious.
