A Land Called Bountiful

The brothers of Nephi, first introduced in Nephi Was My Friend, finally come to the point of attacking him and leaving him to die in the desert. But a prayer is miraculously answered, delivering Nephi from their hands. The clan of Ishmael, along with Nephi and his people, are reunited with Nephi's parents in the Valley of Lemuel, near the shores of the Gulf of Aqabah. In time, the group gathers and continues south on their journey, and eventually the God of Israel leads them east--across the most vast desert of sand in the world--the Empty Quarter, or Rub' al Kahli.
